Commentaires : Cette comédie provient de la même équipe que celle qui a créé dans le West End The Play That Goes Wrong au Duchess Theatre, et Peter Pan That Goes Wrong à l'Apollo Theatre.
Presse : "Is this a show that says smart things about the banking crisis? Not a jot. Does it deliver swag-loads of pleasure and thoroughly deserve to make a mint? Absolutely." Dominic Cavendish for The Telegraph

"In visual gags and physical slapstick ... the show is thrillingly and daringly inventive. There is also an astonishing perspective gag, in which actors remain vertical but are suddenly seen from above." Mark Lawson for The Guardian

"The first half of Mark Bell’s production is laboured set-up; the second sees some slightly more fruitful mayhem in the bank." Fiona Mountford for The Evening Standard

"The entire cast is bang on the money, but Mischief Theatre’s own Henry Lewis and Jonathan Sayer are the standouts as booming bank manager Robin Freeboys and hapless loser (and eternal intern) Warren Slax." Stewart Pringle for Time Out

"The cast produces a display of physical comedy and inspired wordplay that never flags for a second. The choreography of the set pieces is masterly, full of invention and surprises. Just when you think you’ve seen the highlight, they go and top it." Tony Peters for Radio Times

Commentaires : The Play That Goes Wrong is a play by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and Henry Shields. They are all part of the Mischief Theatre Company. It premiered at the Old Red Lion Theatre in London in 2012, moved to Trafalgar Studios in 2013, and opened to the Duchess Theatre in the West End on 14 September 2014. It won Best New Comedy at the 2015 Laurence Olivier Awards.
Presse : "All in all, it’s a great-looking, brilliantly performed piece ... My only qualm about The Play That Goes Wrong is that in getting their play so dreadfully wrong night after night, they are also getting it absolutely right." Tim Walker for The Telegraph

"It’s not sophisticated and it’s certainly over-extended; the show’s one-act Fringe origins aren’t hard to spot. Yet, along with the rest of the enthusiastic audience, I laughed continually. Director Mark Bell also offers some ingenious, not to mention precision-drilled, physical comedy." Fiona Mountford for The Evening Standard

Commentaires : The Olivier Award-winning comedy The Play That Goes Wrong is a raucous affair on stage and a real-life, rags-to-riches tale offstage. Created by a group of LAMDA graduates who formed a troupe by the name of Mischief Theatre, The Play That Goes Wrong began its life on the London fringe with only four paying patrons, and then did absolutely everything right! The comedy evolved itself into a West End production that would ultimately win an Olivier Award in 2015. A Broadway transfer was granted to the original London stars, which officially opened at the Lyceum Theatre on April 2, 2017, following previews from March 9.
Presse : "There's a wild, redeeming poetry in such anarchy. My audience, for the record, roared as loudly as the crowds at any wrestling match." Ben Brantley for New York Times

"A comedy that comes up short with laughs and overstays its welcome - now that's murder." Joe Dziemianowicz for New York Daily News

"The show is all payoffs and no setups; it's like a stand-up routine consisting only of punch lines." David Cote for Time Out New York

"It's so ridiculous it makes you feel almost ashamed to love it." Jesse Green, Vulture

"The actors are very good at being bad and are so daring with the outrageous physical comedy that we often fear for their safety. There's no paucity of wit to the proceedings, and director Mark Bell stages the action with clockwork precision." Frank Scheck for Hollywood Reporter

"It's clear from the beginning - even before the beginning with its pre-show shtick - that wrong will be just right. But it takes a while before the laughs come at full speed." Frank Rizzo for Variety
